Highlights and RCC Analysis
On February 26, 2008, Federal Finance Minister Jim Flaherty presented his 2008-2009 budget. RCC supported the prudent approach taken by the government and welcomed a few initiatives that will be helpful to the retail sector; namely the additional $90 million for the older worker initiative and the $22 million added to the immigration system that will target temporary foreign workers, professional accreditation and foreign students.
